The first Tragara Press publication by Vincent O'Sullivan, one of Alan Anderson's favourite authors. Even though the next ("Apollinaire") appeared fourteen years later, in 1970, Alan Anderson published twelve titles with short stories, letters, essays and translations by O'Sullivan between 1956 and 2010. In the following year, George Sims wrote that "Mr Anderson is arranging a selection of O'Sullivan's letters and essays for publication." (The Book Collector, Winter 1957).

This is the last short story written by Vincent O'Sullivan, first published in the Dublin Magazine, in 1938.
