The colophon states that "Twenty copies [were] printed for private distribution". However, fewer copies than twenty were actually issued.
Cecil Woolf ("A Bibliography of Frederick Rolfe", p.77) quotes a relevant letter by Alan Anderson, addressed to him (May 1960):
"The whole production was a disaster from beginning to end. In the first place the paper was unsatisfactory and did not suit my machine very well. After the sheets were all printed some of them were accidentally spoiled and I had to use several rejected ones. Even then I was unable to issue more than 15 copies of the full 20. Besides these, at least one set of sheets without wrappers is in circulation. About four perfect copies, possibly five, had the recipient's name printed below the limitation notice."
According to Cecil Woolf, the original letter was, at the time of publication, "in Mr. Anderson's collection".
Cecil Woolf's personal copy is in the National Library of Scotland.
